On Thursday, February 6, 2018, the RTP presenter, Hélder Reis and his team, were at the “Sons of The Wind” farm to participate in and record the event “Dressage with Lusitanos Horses.” The event was organized by Vítor Silva in conjunction with RTP and will be aired shortly in the new season of “Noticias do Meu País” program.
Vitor Silva’s “Sons of the Wind” farm took us back in time for a unique and spectacular performance of Lusitano horses and master riders in authentic European costume. The performance highlighted Classical Dressage. The riders and horses performed beautifully in sync with the music.
Present at the event were the General Consul of Portugal in Boston, Dr. José Rui Caroço, the Coordinator of Education in the USA, Dr. João Caixinha and the Counselor of the Portuguese Communities in New England, Mr. Paulo Martins, Mr. Comendador Claudinor Solomon and Dr. Helena Santos-Martins and Dr. Isabel Morais, two prominent doctors in the Boston area.
In addition to being a School of Equestrian Arts, Sons of the Wind Farm also operates a full-service breeding facility in Brazil for the talented Lusitano breed. Horses that have been specially prepared and trained in Brazil under Vitor’s guidance and instruction are available for sale.
The Sons of the Wind Farm located in Merrimac, MA. A school of Equestrian Arts was established in the Fall of 1997 by Vitor Silva who was born in Portugal and is an internationally known Master who is passionate about European Classical Dressage and Lusitano horses. The school provides training and schooling to horses and riders of all levels.
“Dressage with Lusitanos horses” will be broadcast shortly during the new season of the “Noticias do Meu País,” a program dedicated to Portuguese emigrants and the Portuguese community around the world. The program aims to show that Portuguese emigrants have never forgotten their “Portugality,” regardless of the distance that separates them from Portugal and of being well integrated into the countries that welcomed them.
The digital magazine “Feel Portugal in the USA” had the opportunity to be present and to document another success story of Portuguese living in the USA, and to verify that Portugal can be felt here as well.
