The Azores Regional Director for the Communities travels to the United States of America from February 17 to 22, where he will participate in the promotional sessions of the ‘Azorean in the World’ platform.
He will also participate in the inauguration of the Azorean thematic section offered by the President of the Government, Vasco Cordeiro, to the Henry Maden Library, at California State University. in this trip, he will also meet with several local entities and associations.
Paulo Teves begins Monday this visit to the Azorean community living in the states of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and California, with the presentation of the ‘Azorean in the World’ platform at the Friends of Terceira Community Center, in Pawtucket, and at the Azores House of New England, in Fall River.
Also on this first day, the Regional Director will have a meeting with the new Directors of the Great Feast of the Divine Holy Spirit of New England.
The following day, Paulo Teves will open the exhibition “Seeing the Archipelago: A Student Exhibition of Photographs of the Azores Islands”, at Moloney Hall, University of Massachusetts, in Lowell.
This exhibition is the result of a visit to the Azores in 2019 by a group of students from this university’s Photography Course.
On February 19, already in California, Paulo Teves will present the platform to several leaders of Portuguese associations in the city of Tulare, also delivering a communication entitled ‘Azoreans in the World’, as part of the activities of the Portuguese Beyond Borders Institute, in Fresno.
In this city and still, on this day, the Regional Director is present at the launch of the books section dedicated to the Azores at the Henry Maden Library of the California State University, a collection that was offered by the Government of the Azores.
On the 20th, the presentation session of the ‘Azorean in the World’ platform takes place in Artesia and the following day in Turlock.
On this day, the Regional Director of Communities will meet with members of the California Portuguese-American Coalition (CPAC) and with legislators of Portuguese descent who visited the Azores in November 2019.
Paulo Teves ends this visit to the USA, on February 22, with a presentation of the platform in the city of San Jose and a meeting with the Direction of the House of the Azores of Hilmar.

O Diretor Regional das Comunidades desloca-se, entre 17 e 22 de fevereiro, aos Estados Unidos da América, onde vai participar em sessões de divulgação da plataforma ‘Açorianos no Mundo’ e na inauguração da secção de temática açoriana oferecida pelo Presidente do Governo, Vasco Cordeiro, à Biblioteca Henry Maden, da Califórnia State University, reunindo ainda com diversas entidades e associações locais.
Paulo Teves inicia segunda-feira esta visita à comunidade açoriana residente nos estados de Massachussets, Rhode Island e Califórnia, com a apresentação da plataforma ‘Açorianos no Mundo’ no Centro Comunitário Amigos da Terceira, em Pawtucket, e na Casa dos Açores da Nova Inglaterra, em Fall River.
Ainda neste primeiro dia, o Diretor Regional terá um encontro com a nova Direção das Grandes Festas do Divino Espírito Santo de Nova Inglaterra.
No dia seguinte, Paulo Teves inaugura a exposição “Seeing the Archipelago: A Student Exhibition of Photographs of the Azores Islands”, no Moloney Hall, da Universidade de Massachusetts, em Lowell.

Nesta cidade e ainda neste dia, o Diretor Regional está presente no lançamento da secção de livros dedicados aos Açores na biblioteca Henry Maden, da Universidade estadual da Califórnia, coleção que foi oferecida pelo Governo dos Açores.
No dia 20, a sessão de apresentação da plataforma ‘Açorianos no Mundo’ decorre em Artesia e, no dia seguinte, em Turlock.
Neste dia, o Diretor Regional das Comunidades reúne-se com membros da California Portuguese-American Coalition (CPAC) e com os legisladores luso descendentes do Estado da Califórnia que em novembro de 2019 visitaram os Açores.
Paulo Teves termina esta visita aos EUA, na Califórnia, a 22 de fevereiro, com a apresentação da plataforma na cidade São José e com um encontro com a Direção da Casa dos Açores de Hilmar.
