In a statement sent by the Cabinet of the Deputy Minister and Economy, “this distinction was first attributed to the country in 2017, renewed in 2018 and again awarded in 2019”, which consolidates Portugal’s international recognition as a tourist destination and shows how the country is “in the top of the preferences of international tourists”.
In addition to Portugal, Austria, England, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Turkey were named for this prize, the report said.
In total, Portugal received 39 prizes (three more than in 2018).
